About Sean-David

Education: Sean-David is a graduate of Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA) where he studied jazz composition and performance with jazz greats like Phil Wilson, Greg Hopkins, Jeff Stout, Lin Biviano, and Hal Crook. Sean-David also holds a Master of Arts in Religion with an emphasis on Worship and the theology of worship, as well as a Master of Divinity from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary.

Music: Sean-David has taught and played trumpet professionally for many years, as well as having served for six years in the U.S. Army Bands. In 2000 Sean-David composed, performed, and produced his debut recording as a musician, 180 Degrees, with his wife, singer/songwriter Jenna McGoran. Sean-David is always playing and writing new music; often writing corporate worship music for the local church, and plays in and around the community.

Ministry: Sean-David serves in both the preaching/teaching and worship ministries of the local church. He leads corporate worship for a new cross-cultural church plant, a campus of Community Bible North in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and preaches regularly on rotation. Community Bible North holds their corporate Sunday worship meetings on Sunday evenings intentionally for many reasons, not the least of which is so that people of God may serve and support the greater mission of the Church in other churches around the area. To that end, Sean-David is also always ministering regularly through preaching and teaching around the area supporting local churches, the University of Arkansas Fort Smith BCM, and area Youth Alive events.

Teaching: As an educator, Sean-David has taught for Carl Albert State College (Sallisaw, OK) and teaches Bible and ministry courses for Azusa Pacific University and Grand Canyon University, as well as world religions for Strayer University, and the University of Phoenix. Sean-David is currently writing a book for musicians, The Tuned In Musician. Tuned In is a book for musicians and artists who seek not just to create art, but to be tuned in better to the Creator and community. Additionally, he has developed and is currently teaching an elective course for local junior high and high-school home-schooled students in The History of America’s Greatest Art-form: Jazz, Orchestral, and Stage.

What some people are saying about Sean-David:

Sean-David was a key member of our organization, both as a performer and a staff member.

Musically, his talents cover a wide range of styles and instruments. His abilities to arrange, conduct, rehearse and perform are among the best that I’ve worked with in over 30 years as a musician. Sean-David also has a keen sense of the performers he’s working with and has the ability to inspire them to excel on challenging pieces.

As a staff member he organized all aspects of performances, including transportation, food, lodging and security of equipment. His ability to anticipate the unexpected was key to insuring our events were stellar from start to finish.-Bill Cann, First Sergeant, U.S Army

Sean-Daviid was professional and friendly. He was student-centered and worked well with his co-workers. I would hire Sean-David again if given the opportunity. -Kathy Harrell, Vice President, Sallisaw, Carl Albert State College
