Beginning Band
We will be offering a Beginning Band this summer and we would love to have you join us.
The details:
- We will meet for 9 weeks (June 5- August 2), twice a week, each week in Fort Smith.
- Tuesday and Thursday afternoons
- $10 per week ($5 per class) plus the cost of your book and a music stand, unless you buy or find your own.
- Standard of Excellence book 1 (the curriculum) is available from a variety of online retailers for $6.95 and most offer free shipping (www.wwbw.com or www.amazon.com)
- Music stands are available also from around $12-30 and available locally or online (www.musiciansfriend.com or www.wwbw.com)
- BYOI (Bring your own instrument) Saied Music has instrument rentals for $29-37 a month with an option to buy at the end of a three month rental contract. Contact the Fort Smith store at 479-783-305 (www.saiedmusic.com)
- How much prior knowledge does your child need before beginning? None! It is Beginning Band.

Heart, Head, and Hands
I was convicted recently and deeply by a book I taught through in one of the classes I teach, Head, Heart, and Hands by D. Hollinger. If you have not read it, I would absolutely recommend it. The premise is simple, yet profound and biblical. If we love God with all of our heart, soul, and mind we will love Him with a complete faith of the heart, head, and hands. I penned this little hymn in reflection on this truth and wanted to share it with my friends.
Heart, Head, and Hands
Affect my heart, infect my head, employ my hands
Move me Lord, in prayer and worship, as I muse on Your Majesty
Send me, employ me, consume me with Your mission- of saving Your people by the Lamb
By Your power and grace Lord, a faith of the heart, head, and hands
Infect my head, with perfect truth, to hunger and thirst for You
With what is pure, with what is true, on this may I be consumed
Teach me, intrigue me, convicting me by Your Spirit- make me understand

Preacher!
The purpose of preaching is to point to The Lamb. If your primary point is anything else.. repent and turn to The Lamb! Or stop preaching.
Preacher!
Preacher: do not be fearful or shy in preaching this Lord’s Day, do not be unprepared, but preach the Gospel that you have been given by the grace of God. Resolve with Paul to renounce disgraceful, underhanded ways. Refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God’s word, but preach the Gospel. “If our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing.”(2 Cor 4:2-3)
